Firm signs up to scheme seeking to tackle employment barriers facing UK’s 7.6m people with disability.
As part of our wider strategy toward enhancing diversity and inclusion across the firm, we are delighted to announce that Horwich Farrelly has recently been certified as a ‘Disability Confident Committed Employer’.
The scheme, which is run by the Government, is designed to help businesses better support the 7.6m people of working age who have a disability. It seeks to do this by encouraging organisations to challenge attitudes towards disability, increasing understanding of disability, and removing barriers to employment.
In signing up to the first tier of the scheme (Level 1) we’re committing to making our recruitment processes inclusive and accessible, offering an interview to disabled people and making sure we provide reasonable adjustments.
The pledge builds on the work we have done to attract a broad range of talent through initiatives such as our partnership with Pure Innovations, and offering industry placements, apprenticeships and work experience opportunities.
While this is only the first step on our journey toward becoming a Disability Confident Leader (Level 3), the certification highlights Horwich Farrelly as an employer committed to both equality and inclusion in the workplace.
