August, 14, 2015
More than a hundred members of our defendant teams have today donned various shades of the colour purple to raise money for Horwich Farrelly’s nominated charity. The colour was chosen as it’s the signature shade of Mummy’s Star, a charity which provides nationwide support to pregnant women and new mothers diagnosed with cancer.
Employees from across our Manchester, Sheffield, Liverpool and Cardiff offices were asked to make a donation to the charity in return for wearing purple with pride. Joining in the fun were insurer client Hastings Direct whose office in Bexhill-on-Sea was transformed into a purple paradise. In addition to dressing up employees also organised a cake sale and raffle.
All the monies raised today will go towards Horwich Farrelly’s £10,000 fundraising target for the charity which was announced in April. £3,600 has already been raised with a host of activities taking place in the coming weeks including a five aside football tournament and a cycling endurance race between our Sheffield and Manchester offices.
The idea was the brainchild of Claire Fox, Defendant Partner (pictured above, far left). She said “Such a simple gesture as wearing a charity’s signature colour sends a powerful message of our commitment to supporting Mummy’s Star and raises much needed donations for this fantastic charity”.
