Horwich Farrelly secures nominations hat trick at HR in Law Awards 2018

Horwich Farrelly has been shortlisted in three categories at the prestigious HR in Law Awards 2018. The nominations reflect a number of initiatives covering recruitment, workplace wellbeing and employee recognition, and come after the firm scooped an accolade for talent management at last year’s event.

The awards, now in their fourth year, are designed to recognise HR excellence across the legal world in a range of categories. This year, Horwich Farrelly has been shortlisted in the following:

  • Excellence in Reward & Recognition for instigating a completely new culture across the firm’s six offices of recognising and rewarding high performance, delivered in partnership with online platform, ThanksBox.
  • Excellence in Direct Recruitment for investments in improving the applicant experience with the launch of a new careers portal, speeding up the time taken to make new hires and reducing the reliance on recruitment agencies by building up talent pipelines.
  • Best Health & Wellbeing Initiative (for firms of up to 750 employees) in recognition of a year-long charity partnership which raised £21,000 for Rethink Mental Illness, and saw the creation of an innovative Mental Health First Aiders programme, believed to be one of the first of its kind by a UK law firm. The firm also held a Mental Health Awareness Week, which looked at issues such as mindfulness and how a simple pledge can have a demonstrable impact on both physical health and wellbeing.

This is the second time Horwich Farrelly has entered the awards. Last year its novel approach to nurturing talent, My Career Passport, was selected as the winner in the category of Excellence in Talent Management.
