The awards, now in their fourth year, are designed to recognise HR excellence across the legal world in a range of categories. This year, Horwich Farrelly has been shortlisted in the following:
Excellence in Direct Recruitmentfor investments in improving the applicant experience with the launch of a new careers portal, speeding up the time taken to make new hires and reducing the reliance on recruitment agencies by building up talent pipelines.
Best Health & Wellbeing Initiative (for firms of up to 750 employees)in recognition of a year-long charity partnership which raised £21,000 for Rethink Mental Illness, and saw the creation of an innovative Mental Health First Aiders programme, believed to be one of the first of its kind by a UK law firm. The firm also held a Mental Health Awareness Week, which looked at issues such as mindfulness and how a simple pledge can have a demonstrable impact on both physical health and wellbeing.
Liz Partington, HR Director, said “Horwich Farrelly has experienced considerable growth in recent years, both in terms of our workforce and business volumes, which has presented a number of challenges. These include ensuring we continue to be able to attract the best possible talent to sustain the continued growth and diversification of the business’s needs and, following feedback from our people, ensure greater transparency and consistency in recognising and rewarding employee excellence across our network of offices.
“To be shortlisted for a hat trick of awards reflects the innovation demonstrated by our HR team to address these challenges, and the successful collaborations with colleagues in CSR, Marketing and IT, as well as specialist suppliers. It also recognises the manner in which all our people have embraced these initiatives.
“We look forward to the winners being announced next month and meeting our fellow nominees in what is certain to be a keenly fought competition.”
The winners will be announced on 3 May at an awards ceremony in London. For a full list of nominated firms click here.
