As a matter of course we capture significant amounts of management information for the large cross section of the market represented by our client base – between 110 and 250 data items, depending on claim type, on each case that we handle.

In addition to providing valuable performance information to clients, our full-time costs intelligence analyst uses this to identify and track trends and identify changes in opponent behaviour as soon as they appear.  When trends or adverse behaviours are identified a ‘Know Your Opponent’ (KYO) strategy is designed by our Strategic Litigation team.   This will normally cover the full lifecycle of a claim and is implemented in partnership with our clients to ensure that sharp practices are addressed and ironed out as necessary at the most effective point in the process.

We have also recently developed an online secure Portal to allow clients to access and carry out their own analyses as required of ‘real time’ data on the cases we handle for them. A client’s internal data (on cases where we are not instructed, historic cases, or those handled by other suppliers) can also be incorporated into the dataset to provide a larger pool from which to identify trends and enable more effective counter-strategies to be devised.
