Jane has been recognised in both the Legal 500 and Chambers as a leading Catastrophic Personal Injury Lawyer. She qualified as a solicitor in 1991 since when she has acted on behalf of a wide range of insurers. Jane has extensive experience in handling high value and complex personal injury matters involving employers’ liability and road traffic accidents.
She is well known in the market place for being a tough negotiator but fair in her approach. She engages in early meetings with claimant’s solicitors, can be versatile and innovative in her approach and remains outcome focused to ensure the client is afforded the best settlement at the earliest opportunity. Notable cases include Harding v Wealands, where Jane acted for the defendant, an Australian insurer in relation to jurisdictional issues and applicable law, and Timpson v Bailey which determined the meaning of capacity under s.3 of the Mental Capacity Act 2005.
